It was a privilege to be asked to photograph the 35th Anniversary Service of Remembrance and Thanksgiving at the Falkland Islands Memorial Chapel, in the grounds of Pangbourne College. This is the fourth service that Sports-alive photography has captured, and we’ve made all the images from the previous years available online in our galleries here, as well as this years. Medium and small downloads are available free.

An attendance of over 900 people for this 35th Anniversary service meant that not only was the chapel full, but there was also a tented Nave added to the front of the chapel, with video screens in place so that the congregation could follow the service from the additional marquee.

HRH the Duke of York attended the day, and met Veterans, families bereaved during the conflict and chapel donors in Devitt house before the service. There was some animated conversation, and the Duke seemed to enjoy reminiscing his experiences of the conflict with the Veterans, and Rt. Hon Admiral Lord West, who commanded HMS Ardent at the time.
